A haunted car wash hosted this year in western Sioux Falls was so successful, business owners are already looking forward to Halloween 2020.
The Silverstar Car Wash location at 4916 S. Marion Road raised $1,700 for Feeding South Dakota with its first haunted car wash event this week, which finished its last day Wednesday evening.
“We’re always looking for kind of fun things to do to bring families in and create a fun atmosphere,” Silverstar Regional Manager Andrea Vetos said. “This was an idea we had seen other car washes do.”
The event ran Monday-Wednesday with decorations, accent lights and fogs used to give the wash a creepy vibe. Employees dressed up in costumes and wandered through the parking lot to take the experience to another level, Vetos said.
The event raised money from donations and taking a 10 percent portion of sales and handing it all over to Feeding South Dakota.
Vetos said there is lots of interest in bringing the haunted car wash back again next year, possibly at other Silverstar locations.
